Welcome to 4th grade! This year, your fourth grader will be mastering and learning many new concepts and skills. Support from home helps with each child's success in school. There will be homework, projects, and tests to study for throughout the year, along with making sure your child is reading nightly. I am easy to contact through phone, email, or Class Dojo, if there are any questions or concerns. Together, we will make the journey through another school year! Fourth grade will be departmentalized again this year. Your child will receive ELA (reading, writing, language arts) and social studies instruction from me. Mrs. Ferguson will be teaching math and science. We are excited to be working together and ready for an amazing year!
Meet Mrs. McWhorter
This is my first year at Sharp Creek as an Indian - I'm so excited to be here! I have been teaching for ten years. This will be my second year teaching fourth grade. I spent the first nine years teaching third grade. I am ready to begin this new journey in Carroll County. I earned my bachelor of art degree in Elementary Education PreK-8th grade from Tennessee Technological University in 2008. Then I went on to earn my master degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix in 2011. My hometown is Kingston, TN, a small town near Knoxville, TN. I moved to Georgia when my husband and I were married nine years ago. We have three beautiful girls, Ava 6, Allie 5, and Abigail 2. They keep us busy! When I'm not teaching, time with my family is most important. We like to go camping, watch football (University of Tennessee fan!), visit museums, go to the movies, and travel to the mountains, the beach, and new places. We also attend Midway Church in Villa Rica. We love our church!! I'm excited to be teaching in the community we've been living and raising our children.
